Tiny Teeny Tings

This image of Bucky Badger was made from nanotubes by graduate students from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in August 2005. It is just 15 microns across - which means nothing to me whatsoever but in terms of a scale that makes sense, 9,000 of them would fit onto the head of a single pin.

The New Scientist has complied a list of the quirky ways researchers have chosen to demonstrate new micro, nano-scale technology.
