Engineers in Hong Kong have introduced an innovative wind energy technology than can help both rural and city residents protect the environment and cut down on energy costs - without taking up a lot of space. The mirco turbines (see pic!) can generate electricity even if wind speeds are as low as two meters per second. At the moment, a set of 20 gearwheels costs about $25 however the price is set to reduce as they enter mass production. More on the MotorWave company and their products here!
