Fantasy games 'not for geeks'

Ha! It is official. The BBC said so. Well, actually Prof. Mark Davies from Nottingham Trent University said so and he plays World of Warcraft so he should know... The catchily-namesd "Breaking the Stereotype: The Case of Online Gaming" report findings included:

  • Fifteen percent of people play for more than 50 hours a week.
  • Over 60% of players were older than 19.
  • A quarter of those questioned as part of the survey said they played for more than 41 hours a week. This was not deemed unhealthy (w00t).
  • One in three gamers were attracted to other players.
Hrm - reminds me of the "Is this man cheating on his wife?" article I read yesterday...
