Great Balls of Fire!

The 2007 Perseid meteor shower is due to be the "greatest" in years.
The meteors will be visible on clear nights from about August 10 to August 15, peaking on August 13 between midnight and 4am (UK time) and should be visible from much of the Northern Hemisphere as long as you can get away from light pollution. The reason they'll be so good this year is because their arrival will coincide with a new moon. "Usually, moonlight makes it difficult for the human eye to pick out most of the individual meteors, but against a velvety-black sky the display will be mind-blowing."

Nasa and The Times can tell you more. I think I need to dig out my binoculars, a blanket and some coffee!
